Jerry and Karen Schomer have been married for 33 years. They both grew up in Glenshaw, PA, and are Shaler High School graduates. The Schomers enjoy spending time together with their 2 dogs, Abby and Luke. Family is important to them, considering each have 3 siblings and they take great pleasure engaging in activities with them. When they have time off from their busy lives, they can be found boating, listening to music, and bowling with the local league.
In 1988, early in Jerry’s career, he was in an industrial accident that crushed his left foot. After several surgeries and years of rehabilitation, Jerry’s foot had to be amputated. During his injury and recovery, he found out how financial strain affects a family. With the help of others, Jerry and Karen were able to rebuild their lives. They now own a successful business, restoring heavy equipment since 2001.
Karen works full time outside of the business in the health care industry and helps with the business when needed.
Jerry’s and Karen’s walk with the Lord has led them to where they are today. The similar struggles they see in others’ lives have inspired them. With the Holy Spirit guiding them and help from their close friends, For Love of the Lost Foundation was created.
